Early morning visitor: lacewing. We welcome the lacewing because it plays an important role in the control of the olive fly, a fly that can cause problems for the olive growers like us.

Arriving in California in 1981, the natural beauty of the coastline persuaded her to settle in the Santa Cruz area. She has painted in watercolor and acrylic but now prefers to work in oils, capturing beautiful views in a neo-impressionist style.
Jaye participates in many juried art festivals in the San Francisco Bay Area and teaches at Matisse and Merlot Painting Parties. Her colorful paintings of local scenery, vineyards, coastlines and flowers can be viewed online at www.lynnjaye.com

Fall is olive harvest. We had a bountiful harvest thisn year. We learn that it is best to press the olives the same day as they are picked to guarantee optimal quality of flavour and nutritional value. We brought our olives to the local mill and got our oil by dinner time. The freshly pressed oil just tastes....divine!
Cap D'Antibes is about one hour's drive away, for hiking beautiful trails meandering in between the rocky cliffs along the Mediteranean sea and a visit to the fine town of Antibes.
